I have just finished Rabbit Proof Fence. After watching the film for the second time I decided to read the book too. Fascinating as it goes through the history of when the white's first moved in and how life for the Aboriginals just declined from then on.

Sounds interesting
I am presently reading 'Alias Grace' by Margaret Attwood - as with all her stuff it's dark and slightly worrying... !

I'm reading "Where the Heart is" for my book club this Saturday. An Oprah favorite - the movie was good, but the book is so much better!

Currently reading Snuff by Terry Pratchett, getting it's pace, and sadly I wonder how many more books he has in him as his Altzimers will slowly take over.

Currently have several books going at once, as always!
"Lamb"- Christopher Moore (ANYTHING by this man is worthwhile!) "The Hotel in New Hampshire" and "Cider House Rules" both by John Irving "The City of Dreaming Books" and "13 1/2 Lives of Captain Bluebear"- Walter Moers And finally "Wicked Women Whodunit"- Mary Janice Davidson and several other authors.
My literary tastes are all over the board!

....- kiddies book, bathroom reading. :-D HUH!!?? never heard of a genre of bathroom reading!!! I shudder to ask I just read the daily newspaper. Has 2 very good uses (and the 2nd isn't what you're thinking) For me, dependent on mood, I'm reading Lucky Man - Michael J Fox autobiog Game of Thrones (Book1) The Godfather

Mutley, the genre of 'bathroom reading' is anything from Elmer the Elephant to Why don't penguins feet freeze? and anything in between. We have even had Terry Pratchett's 'The World of Poo' in there...... I am currently on The Four Storey Mistake by Elizabeth Enright and Pinnoccio.

yeapb - I had no idea that when Pinocchio grew up he wrote a book! I've just finished reading #18 of the Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich - and this one was a winner. #17 was not a winner, but this one was. Great plots running throughout, AND some laugh out loud scenes. Also, Me times Three - about a girl who knows exactly what her life is going to be like, and then finds out her fiance has two other fiance's - and where she goes from there. Really good - and makes you think a lot! And funny to boot.

There actually was a real life story about some guy who did just that or was it a movie? Reality and fiction intertwine at the moment in my brain.......

I'm reading Samarkand, but I'm finding it tough going.

There actually was a real life story about some guy who did just that or was it a movie? Reality and fiction intertwine at the moment in my brain....... Well, One of the miners who was trapped for all those days underground, ended up having two fiance's - (or maybe even wives) - they both showed up after the miners were trapped. I wonder if that guy just decided to stay trapped.
