I can't believe I didn't update you all after the storm. I was a little busy and was thrown off with the extra work.
While my city didn't experience too much problems with the storm (we are a little inland), we did have a lot of rain, some localized street flooding, trees down and power outages. I had a lot of branches in my yard and a couple trees knocked over in my neighborhood. But, our bayshore area of the county really got smacked. There are some towns that will not be the same ever again. During the storm, we had towns that were completely covered with 3-4 feet of water when the tidal surge came in with the eye of the storm, add the winds and the bashing of the waves and a lot of houses were destroyed or severely damaged.
FEMA has set up a temporary office at my work (the county emergency management agency) and they are running a Disaster Recovery Center here for residents that need assistance.
After the hurricane passed, it was followed by a nor'easter. We got more rain and wind and 3-5" of snow. Luckily, the snow didn't last too long because some of the rain washed it away and then it warmed up a few days later and it melted.
Most of the my area is back to normal, except for most of the bayshore. There are all kinds of fundraisers and donation collections for the people that have been effected by the storm.
Now, the ocean side of the state was hit much worse. I'm sure you have all seen the pictures. My favorite beach town (Ocean City, NJ) was hit bad. The ocean met the bay in a lot of areas. There was one parking lot that is a block from the beach that had 3-4 feet of beach sand in it. Central and North Jersey beach towns were even worse.
So, now lets see what the winter brings us...

Wow - pretty devastating. I saw some photos of sharks swimming down streets between houses - that was too weird. Anyway pleased you are OK.

Those pictures are fake. I seen a few of them. Pretty funny. Really crazy if they were real.
