"Paste a look of cooperation on your face or I'll paste one on you!"
The nurses have bugged out and the doctors and corpsman are packing up to join them. But then wounded come and everyone really appreciates the missing nurses. When the nurses come back, everyone wants to party, but they have to prepare for an inspection by Colonel Bucholtz and the place is in shambles. The doctors try to help organize everything. Hawkeye offers to fix the door to the incubator if he can leave early. Margaret says okay. Several hours later, Hawkeye is still trying to get the door back onto the incubator. Nurse Kellye offers to do it for him so he can go to the party in the officers' club. Later she comes to the party and asks Hawkeye to dance but, when the slow dance comes on, Hawkeye just walks away. Later, in post-op, she complains to Hawkeye about his indifference to her. Then one night, Hawkeye sees Nurse Kellye comforting a patient who is having problems. Hawkeye tries to apologize to her and ends up getting a big lecture. Later he stops by her tent with flowers, but she already has a date. Margaret is complaining about how strict Colonel Bucholtz is in her inspections and then overhears her nurses complaining about how hard she is. The colonel gives her a satisfactory rating.
Trivia: What is Hawkeye's favorite dance?
Facts about Winchesters: "Winchesters do not shave floors."
This episode is the first of six produced during the 10th season, but held over to the 11th season to air. Truman is still president. Deborah Harmon and Rita Wilson are back for their second and final guest appearances. Gary Grubbs would be Harlin Polk on TV's "Will & Grace".
This is the first directing job for Susan Oliver. She played Vina in "The Cage", the pilot of the original "Star Trek" series.
A forgettable episode that gives some background to Nurse Kellye
