"Each of us must dance to his own tune."
When Hawkeye and BJ get fed up with the movie, they act out the parts themselves and make Colonel Potter furious. The colonel repays them by making them morale officers. Under pressure of the camp personnel, Hawkeye announces a surprise. Hawkeye and BJ plan a beach party and need Klinger to go to Seoul to get crab and lobster. Klinger blackmails them with a three day pass. Colonel Potter, however, was already sending Klinger to Seoul for medicine. Meanwhile, one of Winchester's patients, Private David Sheridan, has a severely wounded leg as well as a wounded hand. Winchester manages to save the leg at the cost of diminished capacity to his right hand. In post-op, however, he finds out that his patient is a concert pianist and the man sees no future for himself anymore. Hoping to help, Winchester has Klinger pick up some sheet music for Sheridan in Seoul. Klinger scares everyone when he returns late from Seoul with the crab and lobster, but he does return in time to save Hawkeye's and BJ's necks.
Trivia: What does Klinger take with him to Inchon? Why?
The beginning of this episode is reminiscent of the beginning of "Adam's Ribs" (S3). That one was food and this one is movies. The Charles Boyer and Jean Arthur movie Hawkeye was complaining about was "History is Made at Night" which is also Mrs. Potter's favorite movie. "The Terror in a Tiny Town" is also a real movie.
James Stephens starred in TV's "The Paper Chase" as James T. Hart. He was also Father Prestwick in the "Father Dowling Mysteries".
Another forgettable Season 8 episode.
