Hi guys, sorry not been here for ages... life and all that, really gets in the way sometimes!
Anyone here excited about the new Star Trek Into Darkness film. It's opening here tomorrow & I'm off to watch it on imax.
Caught the uk premiere last week in Leicester Square & even got to shake Chris Pine's hand....!! What a nice bunch of people they all were.
Never going to be able to sleep tonight!!

Well I've seen it and I wasn't disappointed, satisfied all my fangirl needs!!
What a ride.....won't go into it as I'm aware it's not released yet in the US.
Catch it if you can, even if you don't know Star Trek TOS.

Good to see you back Pam Catch it if you can, even if you don't know Star Trek TOS. That's what's so good about the new films, they've gone for a parallel universe re-boot, so not knowing anything about TOS doesn't spoil the enjoyment. Am planning to go tomorrow, hoping it's good. (Was disappointed by Ironman 3 - enjoyed it, but it was a little off the mark)

Thanks guys for the welcome back.
JJ has done a very good job IMHO. I'm a die hard TOS fan, and whilst there were a couple of scenes I rolled my eyes & said 'really'.....the feel and look of STID was perfect. Casting is brilliant in this parallel universe, so kudos to those responsible.
Enjoy Muttley.....let me know what you think, as I'm aware I'm slightly biased toward Chris Pine!!

That was brilliant! Can't say too much without giving the story away, but many respectful nods to the Original Series (and a few to the spin offs) and films.

OK, very interested, I love the original series, and the movies with Kirk, so I'll have to catch it.
What is TOS?

It's just a shorthand for each of the series
TOS = The Original Series TNG = The Next Generation DS9, VOY(ager) and (ENT)erprise are the rest
PP, you'll love it. I hear there will be a third, but with JJ off to do Star Wars he'll only be Producer

I really hope we don't have to wait another 4 years for it!
There's speculation already as to who/what the enemy/storyline will be.

I'm waiting for the dvd release too. Can't wait as the last "new" film was brilliant and actually had made my hubby into a trekkie too!
