I have had a variety of fun occupations - and a few that were just stinkers! LOL - I learned to belly dance in Japan, and taught Belly Dancing, as well as owned a singing telegram company where I performed Bellygrams, for 7 years as well as singing telegrams and gorilla grams. I have had the great honor of bellygramming Alabama, Sha Na Na, Billy Dean, Bobby Goldsboro, and performed on stage with Sha Na Na, because they enjoyed it so much. I was a DJ at an oldies bar for two years, and from there worked at several restaurants and bars, as well as having a DJ service where I entertained at weddings, parties, reunions, etc. That was a four or five year job - and I am thinking of getting back into it. Through it all, I was an Executive Secretary to such fun positions as the Director of Bank Real Estate for First Union National Banks, the Managing Partner of Arthur Andersen Accounting, the General Manager of Koger Equity (the inventor of the office park), and to the President of Peninsular Occidental Insurance. I have been in real estate for many years - commercial and multi housing - as a property manager, and recently I have come to work at the beautiful Ponte Vedra Inn & Club. For the first three years I was Executive Assistant to the General Manager, and have recently been promoted to Membership Accountant. www.pontevedra.com/inn-and-club-specials.aspx?mode=detail&id=inn_2012_summer&gclid=CMLM-eiQurACFYpM4Aodv3L4VA Be sure to click on the "Beach Cam" on the left of the page - and you can see what I see every day at work -

I'm a life guard at a car wash.
Not really. I'm an engineer with my state's department of transportation. I design pavements on new roads and figure out ways to improve old roads. In addition, I run our materials testing lab (from which springs the name "Labman") and we sample and test asphalt, concrete, soils, and other stuff used on highway projects in 10 counties. I have been working there for 25 years, starting out in construction inspection and project management before moving to the lab.

I'm currently a Clerical Assistant at the local Council, within the Housing Projects Department. Our department deals with both the day to day repairs of houses (leaking taps etc) plus planned maintenance programmes, i.e. kitchen replacements, heating installations, windows etc. My job also includes processing Right to Buy applications received from tenants who want to buy their properties.
Previously worked as a Legal Secretary and I'm a qualified Paralegal in residential property conveyancing, which came in handy when applying for my job as the Right to Buy stuff used to be a big part of that but due to the downturn in house sales/purchases I don't spend so much time on that now and its more about repairs. I'm also currently working through a Housing Maintenance qualification with the aim of becoming a Housing Projects Officer (hopefully) who inspect the properties when they become empty and deal with more major repairs.

I worked as a secretary for a psychologist for two years. For the second of those two years, I was working two jobs, the second being a veterinary technician. I worked the vet tech job for years and am now currently unemployed and completely unsure what to do with my life!

Some varied jobs here, a wealth of knowledge and experiences. So, I should add mine.
Since I left school I have worked for reinsurance brokers (that's insurance of insurance companies) processing technical accounts for them, the accounts are placed globally, but as a company we do a lot of busisness through Lloyds of London. The actual company I work for places 75% of its accounts in the US, I tend to deal with either property or Medical Malpractice accounts. It can be quite fun.
Of a weekend, a change of pace as I sometimes freelance as a "photo journo" at motorsport events. But this is a rarity thesedays, however, as some know I am anti bad/lazy journalistic practice.

What a wonderful position to be in - especially if you still have your health and your youth!!! Take some time, and find what excites you!!!! Good Luck!
