"Shut mouth, use pencil."
Margaret has given herself a perm. She comes straight out of the showers into O. R. The smell of her hair is bothering the surgeons. The combination of cold air and wet hair though, causes her to contract laryngitis. Unfortunately, Dr. Chesler, a long admired colleague of hers, is having a meeting in Seoul and she wants to meet him. Then she finds out that Dr. Chesler's has to leave earlier than expected and was cancelling his lectures. Margaret has to tell him that she can't come to meet him but, thanks to Major Winchester, the doctor comes to the 4077th to meet her. Winchester gets a big kiss from Margaret for this deed. A general's son is a war hero, and his father, General Collins, comes to camp to visit him. When the general finds out that his son is in unstable condition, he moves his office to the 4077th. Later, his son dies and an unemotional general suddenly becomes quite emotional. Then, after a toast and a talk with Hawkeye, the general returns to his unemotional state.
Trivia: What did Curt finally accomplish when he was about nine after trying for two years?
Margaret gives Dr. Chesler credit for her idea for the nurses to help in triage. This is probably referring to episode "Hot Lips is Back in Town" (S7).
John Anderson was already a familiar face having guested on many TV shows multiple times since before the Korean War. He would also guest star on "Dallas" and "MacGyver". He also had major roles in the movies "Psycho" and "Smokey and the Bandit II". Michael Horton played regular character Rick Jones on TV's "The Incredible Hulk" at the time. He also played Grady Fletcher on "Murder, She Wrote". James Karen is an actor that has been around as long as John Anderson was, but less well known.
This was a good episode.
