"Coming up -- one side of beef, hold the witnesses."
Margaret is called out of the showers for a phone call from her father. He is coming to visit her on his inspection tour. Margaret goes all out to try and impress him. But, when he suddenly exits O. R. after she drops a tray of tools, Margaret suspects she disappointed him. When she tries to talk to him, her father says he is too tired. Hawkeye and BJ try to make peace with "Howitzer", but he can only complain of their disrespect to the Army. When he decides to leave early, Margaret blames Hawkeye and BJ. Colonel Potter then has a talk with both of them and they make up as Margaret's father is leaving. Sergeant Morgove, a patient, is so thankful for Hawkeye's care in the hospital that he offers to send Hawkeye a steak dinner. Much to Hawkeye's surprise, a whole frozen side of cow, stolen from General Beswick, gets shipped to the 4077th. The medical staff, however, manages to get it thawed out and eaten by the time the M. P. comes to confiscate it. They encourage the M. P.s to eat as well.
Trivia: How did Morgove get injured?
Andrew Duggan was a familiar face for long time TV watchers having the lead role in TV's "Lancer" and other less successful series. This is Jeffrey Kramer's second appearance on M*A*S*H.
I didn't like this episode. It was a depressing story combined with an unrealistic one.
