"Trust me. I know cement and it's not that hard."
Hawkeye checks up on his patient, Private Cochran, and finds a staph infection. After a discussion, the medical staff determines that it is caused by germs in the wood O. R. floor. They decide to take care of the problem by putting in a cement floor. Klinger, through his trickery, gets the cement, but the personnel have to install the floor themselves. After two tries the floor is laid. Winchester makes the caution sign. Private Cochran cuts the ribbon. Margaret gets the chance to help a wounded Italian soldier, Ignazio De Simone, with a "dear Giovanni" letter. The medic mistakes Margaret's attempts to cheer him up as affection for him and falls in love. He then starts trying to take advantage of her. Margaret tries to send him away, but he comes back AWOL. Finally Margaret has to tell Ignazio that she in love with Major Winchester to get him to leave.
Trivia: What is Klinger's formula for cement?
In many episodes of early seasons, it appears that they already had concrete floors. Hawkeye and BJ had previous experience with cement in "Dear Comrade" (S7). Also the Italy patch on Ignazio's uniform is on sideways. The stripes should go up and down. Alan Toy is one of a few actors that appeared in M*A*S*H and both its spin-offs, "Trapper John, M.D." and "After MASH".
Note: The Mel Harris that IMDB links to is not the driver on this episode. The driver (who speaks frustratingly to Ignazio) is definitely an older man for one thing.
