A few weeks ago I purchased Das Boot - The Original Uncut Version on DVD. The film is one of my favorites, but I've never seen the original uncut version before. This version is 293 minutes in length, which is far longer than the 149 minute director's cut that was previously released.
Has anyone else seen the original uncut version?

Never seen Das Boot, but have ofthen thought I should. And 293 minutes is a epic length, and for that reason alone its just come up the list and needs hunting down

I don't think you'll be disappointed by the film, Muttley. The film portrays what I imagine a submariner must have gone through. The days aren't filled with action. No, there's a lot of boredom to be had just waiting until a target can be found. I found the 293 minute version on Amazon for less than $10.00 USD.
