The ep is where a taxi driver was doing the abductions and finally Sherlock took a ride. When Sherlock was in no real danger at the end between the choice of pills or a gun, then Watson didn't have to shoot the taxi driver from another room.

I like the updated Sherlock, written by Stephen Moffatt, I found out recently that he wrote one of my favourite shows when I was a kid (Press Gang)

No worries, I guess at the end, Watson had no idea what was going to happen, but knowingn that the driver had abducted/killed, shot to ensure Sherlocks safety. As I understand Series 3 is currently in (pre)production
