(see what I did there??) Ok, so there won’t be any Nurse on a gurney or wheelchair races, but there are lots of other events. Will you be watching/following, or lucky enough to be attending an event? My viewing will be as much cycling as possible, and will be there on Box Hill cheering through the Road race and TeamGB/Mark Cavendish. I’ll also follow the canoeing and equestrian events, and perhaps some of the lesser followed sports. But mostly, I’ll be surrounded by the blasted thing, so may as well get in the spirit. I say it like that, as we in the UK have had the countdown for a whole year, and longer. And my commute takes my within 500m of the main arena (I have a photo I'm tryin to insert) Or, instead of watching, will you be a ‘games maker’? ie a volunteer. I work with one who will be at the white water rafting, and try as i may, I couldn’t get to be a helper, especially as an event is in my neighbourhood – the Mountain biking. Yes, Essex may be a flat county, but they’ve managed to build a ‘mountain’ of sorts So, who will you be cheering on and in what sport? And if you could add a sport, real or made up (this is MASH afterall:) ) what would it be? and why (Sorry, no 3-day pass on offer) I'd like to see volleyball played with an inflated glove added,

Totally sympathise with the Olympic hype - we had them in 2000 - nearly drove me mental! But I will be watching anything equestrian. Unfortunately our tellies will be focused on the swimming!

I'll be watching, love both summer & winter Olympics. My favorites are track and field, swimming, diving, gymnastics, tennis. My main difficulty (being 8 hours behind London) will be avoiding the internet and local media who might list results before it airs where I live.

Anyway, less than 3 hours to the opening ceremony. Sadly because of my early start in the morning I shan't seeing much of it, but that's what a TIVO is for. It's gonna be a spectacle to be enjoyed by all. The stadium looks brilliant.

I liked the opening ceremonies...from what I was able to see between being at work and NBC's excessive editing.
Millwall, what are you doing at the Olympics?

Anyway, on Saturday I was on Box Hill, cheering on Team GB cyclicts. And I couldn't have had a better day there. For all the scare mongering in the press the security was great, friendly and considering 15000 people, I didn't hear of a single problem. Now, If only we could have won, then that'd be a different story... some race photosseen on the hill
