Wow, well that makes it more difficult, since most of the black performers have abandonded Rock and roll for R&B or Rap.

Are you Wilson Pickett?
If not, What instruments do you play? Are you more to the R&B side of Rock than the hard rock or bubble gum???

I am not Wilson Pickett. I am a singer, not known for playing instruments. I played real Rock-n-Roll. The kind where you can really move to the beat. I am known more by my nickname than my birth name.

I was born Ernest Evans on October 3, 1941 in South Carolina. I was raised in South Philly (Philadelphia, PA, USA). I started a street corner harmony group at the age of 8. In high school, I did vocal impressions of Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis and Fats Domino. I attended high school and was friends with Fabiano Forte (Fabian) I was given the nickname of "Chubby" by my boss at the Produce Market where I would entertain customers with songs and jokes. My boss setup a private recording for Dick Clark of American Bandstand and while being introduced to Dick Clark's wife after doing an impression of Fats Domino, she asked what my name was. "Well", my friends call me 'Chubby'". She smiled and said, "As in Checker?" That little play on words ('chubby' meaning 'fat', and 'checkers', like 'dominoes', being a game) got an instant laugh and it stuck. I have been recording since 1959 with my peak records in the 60's. (The Twist, Pony Time, The Hucklebuck, Dance the Mess Around, Let's Twist Again, Limbo Rock, The Twist (Yo Twist!)and more!) I am Chubby Checker!

No, but the first name is close.
I am known for my very dry humor as a comedian actor, but have also been in some dramatic films and in theater.
I'm lanky.
