I was first created in the 1880's in Atlantic City, NJ. Joseph Fralinger popularized it by boxing it as a souvenir on the boardwalk. Enoch James cut the pieces into bite sized pieces and mechanized the process. Fralingers and James still have stores in Atlantic City and Ocean City, NJ. Contrary to popular believe, Salt water is not used to make it. The most popular size and shape is an approx. 2 inch length, wrapped in a precut wax paper with the paper twisted at both ends. Some stores have machines, over 100 years old still in operation, displayed in their businesses for customers to watch the process from the pulling of the taffy, to rolling it, cutting it and wrapping it.
One of my favorite places is Shriver's Salt Water Taffy on the Ocean City Boardwalk in Ocean City, NJ.
Yes, heavenation, you guessed Salt Water Taffy correctly...in 27 minutes. Good job!

Woohoo! My first ever guess (I think) and I got it right! It's turning out to be a good day after all! My turn? Let's see... I lived in America during the mid to late 1800's and was legendary. Almost everyone has heard of me. Some idolized me, but in reality, I did not do good things.

Are you a politician or a military person?

Yes, I was involved in the Confederate military during the Civil War, but that's not what I am most known for. No, I was not a politician, although with my morals, I could have fit in well.

I'm not Bedford Forrest, but that's a good try! I was not that high ranking in the military. Forrest and I have some similarities that might help. I see that Forrest was a military leader. I was a leader too, but only after being in the military. Forrest seemed to have been good at earning money. I too had a knack for getting money, but not in the same ways that he did.

Well, I was thinking John Wilkes Booth, but he was only a sympathiser, never served in the Confederate Army. So, I need another clue.

Another clue it is! Let's see.. ok! Got it. Both my brother and I are famous and worked together to achieve the things we're famous for. Again, we're not well known for being such good guys, and I am more famous than my brother is.

are you Jesse James?

Yes! I am Jesse James! Good job, jimmymo! From 1868 to his death in 1882, Jesse James rode with his brother Frank and the Younger gang, robbing banks, homes, trains and stage coaches off and on. Jesse eventually rode with another gang in 1879 and was eventually killed by a man in that gang named Bob Ford, supposedly for the reward money.
